Escape from Playtime Enemies and Threats

CatNap leads a small, scary cast. Early Access ships with a core enemy roster that Mob has barely detailed — so this page ranks what official media actually shows, separates confirmed threats from speculation, and will grow into a full bestiary after the beta.

CatNap (S Tier)

The central hunter — purple cat, moon pendant, patrols the loot-dense rooms and punishes noise. Full profile: CatNap character page. Full survival playbook: how to escape CatNap. The IGN trailer breakdown and the fan wiki game page track enemy reveals.

Known Unconfirmed
Stalks factory zones Patrol routes and speeds
Appears in every trailer (watch) Damage and down rules
Wall-climb screenshot presence Whether he climbs like players

The Doll Stalker (A Tier)

A ragged doll-like figure in a red dress appears across official screenshots — classroom close-up, doorway lurking behind the Critter lineup. No name, no mechanics, no official mention in text. It reads as a second stalker-type enemy: humanoid, patient, placed where players look last.

Doorway lurk behind lineup Lineup room art
Red dress, doll mask features Both appearances
Unnamed does not mean unimportant

The doll appears too deliberately framed to be set dressing. Treat every doorway and classroom corner as occupied until the beta identifies it — room tactics in the map guide.

Factory Events (B Tier)

The Zoomies monitors prove events fire mid-run — "everyone's movement speed is increased." Events are a threat category because positive announcements imply negative counterparts: speed for you today, speed for hunters tomorrow. Read every broadcast; details in the extraction guide.

Environmental Hazards (C Tier)

Hazard Where seen

Long corridor sightlines Multiple screenshots
Darkness and red-lit zones Archway and lab shots
Procedural dead-ends Implied by generation

Hazards do not chase you, but they shape every chase. Learn the room types: map guide.

What the Full Roster May Hold

Mob promises a "core enemy roster" at EA — plural, deliberate. Reasonable expectations (labeled as expectations): 2-4 distinct hunter types at launch, miniboss-style variants later in EA, event-tied spawns. The beta's enemy count is our first verification target.

FAQ

What is the scariest enemy?

CatNap by design — mascot, hunter, and Chapter 3 baggage. The doll may surprise.

Can enemies climb walls like players?

Players climb (confirmed). Whether hunters follow vertically is unconfirmed — the CatNap wall screenshot is suggestive, not conclusive.

Are there bosses?

Nothing announced. Extraction games often skip bosses for systemic pressure — expect hunters, not health bars.

Do enemies scale with squad size?

Scaling is unconfirmed. Assume no scaling and play carefully — verify in beta.

When does the bestiary update?

After October 1: names, stats, patrol maps, and counters per enemy.
